Potential trim sizes for use in The Joy Journal (4-week journal) and The Joy I Came Back For (memoir) are shown below. Maintaining the same height (8 inches) for both the journal and the memoir creates a unified shelf presence when next to one another. The trim size width can shift with each book’s content requirements.

NOTES:

A 5.57″ × 8″ trim size is currently in use in the journal’s preliminary design. This allows for an easier experience when writing in The Joy Journal.

The memoir could use the same trim width as the journal if exact consistency in sizing is desirable. This is not a set requirement.

Since the MS for the memoir is constructed more like a prose poem (paragraph returns after single sentences), a narrower width trim for the memoir may better showcase that content without introducing excessive white space.

The pocket book edition will likely be best served by a trim size that is smaller in height and width when compared to the journal and memoir.
